Atardeceres, calas y ritmo
Ibiza
Independent, review-based hotel analysis — no paid placements, no marketing fluff.
Ibiza is really two islands layered on top of each other. To the south, global electronic music: Playa d'en Bossa, Sant Josep, Marina Botafoch. Clubs run until 6am from May to October, prices run inflated, the calendar is driven by DJs. To the north, a rural landscape of pines and small coves: San Juan, Santa Eulària, Cala San Miguel. Same sea, very different experience — hippie markets, 10pm dinners, light traffic.
Peak season is July–August: prices double, beaches fill from 9am, roads jam at weekends. June and September hit the sweet spot — same climate, clubs fully open, 30–40% lower hotel prices. From November to April, 80% of restaurants close and every beach club shuts.
The critical call is not which hotel to book. It is which area. Dalt Vila fits travellers who want history and walkable stays. Santa Eulària is the family-friendly option — quieter beaches, more contained prices. Playa d'en Bossa only makes sense if nightlife is the reason for the trip. San Miguel and San Juan need a car, but in return you get the version of Ibiza without wristbands or flip-flop tourists.
