Methodology
How we analyse hotels
We haven't slept in the hotels we list. We say this upfront because the rest of our promise depends on that honesty.
What we do
- We analyse the 150 most recent Booking reviews per hotel. Recent ones, not all of them: reviews from four years ago don't represent the hotel today.
- We identify patterns that appear often enough to be signal, not noise.
- We verify location with Google Maps: real walking times to the key spots of the destination.
- We contrast the hotel's official policies with what guests actually report.
- Every page states exactly how many reviews were analysed and when.
Why this matters
Booking and the meta-search engines get paid by the hotelier. We earn affiliate commission only if you book and complete the stay. That aligns our incentive with your booking being a good fit — not with closing it at all costs. That's why we can tell you who a hotel isn't for.
What we don't do yet
Visit the hotels in person. We'll do it with some of them over 2026-2027. When we do, we'll mark it explicitly. In the meantime, we assume that rigorous analysis of recent reviews is more honest than a generic description written without having been there.
If you find a factual error in any page, write to us. We'll fix it and publish the correction.
